Sub-series consists of information, correspondence, transcripts of conferences on the provincial, territorial and federal government programmes planned for International Women's Year (1975). Briefing books and documentation on various United Nations Seminars, the World Conference in Mexico (June-July 1975), UNESCO conferences and the Action '75 Conference in Ottawa are also found in these records.

International Women's Year : On 27 January 1975, the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women announced that provincial and territorial organizations could determine the programmes which would be most suited to transmit information on the status of women and on the services and laws applicable to women within an overall objective of broadening the base of awareness and support for women's equality.

Personnel was recruited for all these programs and co-ordinators were hired and given a ten-day intensive training session in Ottawa. Each of the programmes in the provinces and territories differed in organization and emphasis and were co-ordinated with provincial/territorial programmes such as "Carrefour '75" in the province of Quebec. A one-day intensive conference was held in Ottawa on 15 October 1975 and was designed to provide an opportunity for chief executives from industry, unions, business, government, academia and the media to hear of positive action they could take within their spheres to further women's equality.
