Accession is comprised of operational records regarding farmer client files including files of farmers who applied to the Farm Debt Review Board for financial review and restructuring. Files contain applications, correspondence, financial reports on farmers' business operations with land title searches, some court documents, mediation reports, and summaries of outcomes. The files are arranged numerically.
These records are being reviewed for archival value.
The Farm Debt Review Board and the records contained in this accession will be subject to an achival appraisal under a Multi-year Disposition Plan with the department. The Farm Debt Review Board will be reviewed in the context of the Farm Income Protection Program and it is anticipated that the case files contained in this accession will be disposed of under the terms and conditions of the new authority. It is expected that an authority for the records identified under the rubric of the Farm Income Protection Program will be completed by the spring of 2000.
Since 2010, archival records are held at the Regional Service Centre in Winnipeg.
