The largest and most valuable portion of the pre-1966 registry to survive was heavily edited and selected as working papers for the official history of the Commission before transfer to the National Archives and is incorporated as the Files related to an officially sanctioned history of the Civil Service Commission compiled by William McCloskey sub-series (RG32-H-1, R234-45-2-E, MIKAN 134419). Other small components of the registry are located in the Selected subject files sub-series (RG32-D, MIKAN 134438, R234-28-2-E). Other portions of the pre-1966 registry including records related to classification are found in the Treasury Board fonds, in the Registry files series, (RG55-B, MIKAN 140799, R776-51-0-E).
