Sub-series consists of lists of shareholders of chartered banks covering the periods 1914 to 1951 and 1953 to 1955. Chartered banks were required by statutes to deposit every year two copies of their list of shareholders showing the number of shares and amount of money invested by each of them. The first copy was kept by the Department of Finance; the second became a sessional paper. Earlier lists until 1914 may be found in the sessional papers for those years. Volume 4693 of this sub-series contains a sampling of annual statements of the Bank of Hamilton, Barcklay's Bank, "La Banque d'Économie de Notre-Dame de Québec", and "La Banque d'Économie de Québec".
