Radio program presented by International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers in Sudbury, Ontario. In a prepared statement, Local 598 executive board member, Tom Paradis, discussed Mine Mill-Inco talks in Toronto, stating that the union hopes to call membership meetings within the next couple of days and that speculation by the press, the role of politicians, and the resistance of the company have placed obstacles in the path of the union negotiating team. Paradis compares the Inco offer to settlements reached by other companies in Canada, calling Inco the last hold-out on the "hold-the-line" policy on no wage increases in 1958. Included are messages of support from the Australian Miners' Union, the French Miners' Union, and the Scottish Miners' Union.~Part of the play-by-play of the Grey Cup football championship between the Ottawa Rough Riders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, played in Lansdowne Park in Ottawa.~Among the players mentioned are quarterback Orville Burke, Andy Tommy, Dave Sprague, Sammy Sward, Tiny Herman, Arnie McWatters, Bunny Wadsworth, Murray Griffin, Leo Seguin, Tony McCarthy, and Wilf Tremblay of the Ottawa Rough Riders and quarterback Andy Bieber, Greg Kabat and Art Stevenson of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.~The game, won by Winnipeg 8-7, featured touchdowns by Andy Bieber of Winnipeg and Andy Tommy of Ottawa, singles by Greg Kabat and Art Stevenson of Winnipg and Tiny Herman of Ottawa, and a convert by Herman.~The cheers of the crowd, the honking of automobile horns and the stadium public address announcements are audible. <25mn 15s>
