Ilsley, J. L. (James Lorimer), 1894-1967 : J.L. (James Lorimer) Ilsley (1894-1967) was Minister of Finance from July 1940 to December 1946. First elected to Parliament in 1926, Ilsley was the former Minister of National Revenue and served as acting Minister of Finance during the illness of Charles Avery Dunning (Minister of Finance 1935-1939).
