Canada. Office of the Deputy Minister of Customs and Excise : In 1943 Customs and Excise was placed under the jurisdiction of a Deputy Minister of Customs and Excise. Before this date the duties of the Deputy Minister were shared by the Commissioner of Excise and the Commissioner of Customs.
