Collection consists of preliminary drawings for dedications, commemorations, certificates of honour for various occasions such as retirements, resignations and service in the World Wars for various companies, such as The Dominion Bank, Hudsons Bay Company, Spruce Falls Power & Paper Company, Carnegie Corporation, Badminton & Racquet Club of Toronto, Toronto Board of Education, National Trust Company, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto Kennel Club, Hamilton Club, St. James Cathedral, Toronto.

Carter, Alexander Scott, 1881-1968 : Alexander Scott Carter was a decorative artist, an illustrator and architect.

He was born in Harrow, England on 7 April, 1881. Studied at Bournemouth School of Art, England; Heatherly School of Fine Art, London; Royal Academy School of Architecture, London; He graduated as an architect from London Polytechnic and practised in London. He arrived in Toronto in 1912. He specialized in architectural decorations and heraldic ornaments and designs.

He was a member of the Society of Graphic Artists; Arts & Letters Club of Toronto; Royal Canadian Academy; Canadian Soceity of Graphic Artists; Royal Architectural Institute of Canada; and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London, England.
