The accession consists of personal documents created by Gerald Le Dain as a lawyer with (Partner, Riel, Le Dain, Bissonnette Vermette & Ryan), 1961-1966; as a professor and dean of Law of Osgoode Hall Law School, York University (1967-1975); as the chairman of the Commission of Inquiry into Non-Medical Use of Drugs (1969-1973); as a judge of the Federal Court of Appeal (1975-1984) and as a justice of the Supreme Court of Canada (1984-1988).
The acquisition consists of photographs of Gerald Le Dain's clay bust by Ken Jarvis; Maquette and cornerstone ceremony of new Osgoode Hall Law School building, Toronto, Ont.; Portraits of members of the Commission of inquiry into the non-medical use of drugs - photos includes Gerald Le Dain, Marie A. Bertrand, Ian L. Campbell, Dr. Heinz E. Lehmann and J. Peter Stein. Photos by Nelson Pau, Gilbert A. Milne
