Gwin, John, fl. 1788 : John Gwin was hired, in 1787, by Peters, Deputy Post Master General for Nova Scotia, to carry the mail, once a fortnight, between Halifax and Annapolis. Gwin was later hired, in 1788, by Finlay to arrange for the conveyance of mail between Quebec and Halifax, as part of Finlay's plan to establish a regular route between the two settlements.
