Sub-sub-series consists of letterbooks containing copies of correspondence, memoranda, canal orders and circulars sent from the engineer in charge of the Welland Canal, including the second and third canals, and the Welland Ship Canal; also included is correspondence with departmental officials in Ottawa on the subject of accounts and paylists. The letterbooks exist for the following dates: 1843-1884, 1890-1919, 1922-1923.
