Lachine Canal Commission (Canada) : The Lachine Canal Commission was appointed to oversee construction when the Lachine Navigation Company was bought by the province in 1821. The Lachine Canal was finished in 1825, and subsequently enlarged in 1843 and 1848. Further improvements were carried out after Confederation. RG43 General Inventory
