The fonds consists of microfilmed letters to Marchioness Grey from: Lady E. Anson, 1748-1759; her father, John Campbell, the 3rd Earl of Breadalbane, 1757-1781; Lady Margaret Heathcote, 1758-1760; Amabell, Lady Polwarth, her daughter; Caroline Yorke, her niece; and from her son, J. Sidney Yorke, 1784. Topics include the state of the war in the American colonies, Louisbourg, Crown Point, Halifax, and Quebec; the British army in the American colonies; the ungrateful nature of Canadians, and related matters. The fonds is located on microfilm reel A-1959.

Grey, Jemima, Marchioness, 1722-1797 : Jemima Yorke, nee Campbell, was the daughter of John Campbell, 3rd Earl of Breadalbane, and of Lady Arabella Grey. She was the granddaughter of Henry Grey, Marquess of Kent and Baron Lucas of Crudwell. Upon the death of her grandfather, she inherited the peerages noted above.

She was born on 9 October 1722 and married Philip Yorke, second Earl of Hardwicke on 22 May 1740. She had two daughters, Mary Jemima and Amabel, and one son, J. Sidney Yorke. On her death, 11 January 1797, the Marquessate of Grey became extinct and the Barony of Lucas of Crudwell devolved to her eldest daughter, Amabel, wife of A. Hume-Campbell, styled Viscount Polwarth.
