This accession consists of a miscellany of records generated by various responsibility centres within the Canadian National Railway Company, subsidiary and affiliate railways.
Grand Trunk Railway records include General Manager and Traffic Manager correspondence (1888), Provident fund Association Rules and Regulations, railway system timetables (1894, 1900-1918) and an 'International Route' Chicago, Illinois-Sydney, Nova Scotia travel guide.
The reports/studies concern such topics as the navigability of Hudson's Bay, Straits and Harbour (1932), Montreal Terminals Development (1939), the use of the Mount royal Tunnel by the Montreal Tramways Company (1944, 1947), valuation of the Victoria Bridge (1945), Montreal-Toronto Line traffic (1965) and bilingualism on CN trains and at stations (1968).
Other records include such items as an Atlantic Quebec & Western Railway payroll recapitulation sheet (December, 1924), a copy of 'Dempsey's Cipher Code' (1917), addresses given by S.W. Fairweather, Director, Bureau of Economics (1929, 1937) and Royal Train menus produced on the occasion of the 1939 King George VI-Queen Mary visit to Canada.
Also contained in this accession is a small selection of railway-related maps.
