Canada. Board of Audit : The Board of Audit, established in 1855, generally met once a month to discuss matters pertaining to the public accounts. The Auditor, John Langton, acted as Chairman of the Board which included the Deputy Inspector General, the Commissioner of Works of the Board of Audit, and after 1864, the Deputy Receiver-General, Deputy Postmaster-General, the Assistant Commissioner of Crown Lands and the Deputy Commissioner of Public Works. The Board reported to the Inspector General of Provincial Accounts, and after 1859, the Minister of Finance.
