This accesion consists of Comptroller's Office (Western Region) branch line expenditure summaries for Engineering Branch/Construction Division programs for the period 1927-1932. Each branch line binder lists monthly expenditures by category, such as payroll, supplies acquired from Transcona stores, office rental, professional services fees, compensation to farmers for rights-of-way acquired, etc. and by specific projects, be it a section foreman's residence, bunkhouse, stockyard or charges to other units such as the Sleeping & Dining Car and Boarding Departments. The binder entitled 'Branch Line Files 1929-32' also contains approved copies of program AFEs (Authorities for Expednitures) for the relevant branch line projects.
