Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, teletype messages, reports, minutes, notes, style guides, editorial "post-mortems", print matter, publicity materials, and other papers relating to "The Financial Times of Canada" and to Clayton Sinclair's career at the newspaper. There is an emphasis on editorial aspects of operating and producing the newspaper. Founded in Montreal in 1912, the "Financial Times" was acquired in 1961 by Southam-MacLean Publications Ltd. The newspaper moved its head office from Montreal to Toronto in 1975, and in 1989 the "Financial Times" was sold by Southam Inc. to Thomson Newspapers; it folded in 1995.
