Canada. Canadian Army. Royal Canadian School of Infantry : The Royal Canadian School of Infantry was located in CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick. The school served as a training facility for the four Regular Force regiments and 52 Militia units which comprise the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. On 24 November 1966 the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps School and the Royal Canadian School of Infantry were amalgamated to form the Combat Arms School (CAS) at CFB Borden. In 1970 the CAS and the CF School of Artillery were amalgamated and moved to CFB Gagetown on 1 September. On 15 May 1976 the Combat Training Centre (CTC) was formed and allocated to Mobile Command; it was tasked to provide individual combat arms training in accordance with approved doctrine, train combat ready land forces and plan operational support tasks as directed by the Commander Mobile Command. The Combat Training Centre was restructured on 11 January 1978 and amalgamated the Combat Arms School and the former Combat Training Centre. It continued to conduct individual combat arms training in accordance with approved doctrine. Restructured on 1 July 1987, the role of battle included: Combat Training Centre Headquarters, Armour School, Field Artillery School, Air Defence Artillery School and Infantry School.
