National Museum of Natural Sciences (Canada). Botany Division : The Botany Division of the Museum of Natural Sciences had its origins in the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC). John Macoun (1882-1912), James M. Macoun (1913-1920), M.O. Malte (1920-1933), and A.E. Porsild (1936-1963) were Curators of the National Herbarium and heads of the Botany Division of the Geological Survey of Canada and later, the Museum of Natural Sciences. On April 1, 1968, the Natural History Branch of the National Museum of Canada became the National Museum of Natural Sciences under the National Museums of Canada. RG132 General Inventory
