Karl Beveridge (Interviewer)Description:Oral history interview by Carole Condé and Karl Beveridge of Annie Opersma and Lloyd Dessault, assembly line workers at General Motors of Canada, Oshawa, Ontario, and members of Local 222, United Automobile Workers. The conversation begins with the subject of working mothers and child care, as well as issues at the workplace such as health and safety, technology, union restrictions and peer presure. They discuss the work of a foreman and the importance of maintaining good working conditions. Other topics include: women's pay and rights; promotion; and the Canadian section of the U.A.W.
