Biography/Administrative history:

HMCS Givenchy : HMCS Givenchy, Esquimalt was a Naval Shore Establishment for ships in reserve, ships paid off for disposal, auxiliary ships, and Dockyard administration. HMCS Rockcliffe took over the duties of HMCS Givenchy when the Establishment was paid off in March, 1947. Dockyard administration and control of auxiliary vessels reverted to the Dockyard Superintendent. DND 1946-47 Annual Report, p.16
