Canada. Royal Canadian Navy. Commanding Officer Auxiliary Vessels (Esquimalt, B.C.) : During the Second World War, auxiliary vessels from other government departments and private sources capable of carrying out minesweeping or anti-submarine duties were requisitioned by the Commanding Officer Auxiliary Vessels, Esquimalt. The authorization for this action was facilitated by the provisions of the 1937 Defence Schemes written by the Director of Naval Intelligence and Plans (DNI and P).
