Sub-series consists of one unnumbered topical file consisting of a catalogue or register of "referred" cases dated 1957-1958. This is a collection of "Form D" sheets (entitled "Appeals For Review") which list all cases referred by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration to the Board, all but one in 1958. Some of the case files for these cases are also in RG 82 volume 1. The sheets are organized in numerical order by case number, covering cases 57-2133 and 58-2001 to 58-2223 inclusive. Each form lists one to five cases and gives the following information for each: appeal case number (2000 block); appellant's name; location of IAB hearing; whether the case was elected (by the immigrant) or referred (by a departmental authority); the identity of any parties making representations; the specific clauses in the statute on which the decision was based; a one-line summary of the decision; and the names of board members present.

With the one exception of the records in this sub-series, the headquarters subject files (operational records) of the Immigration Appeal Board (General Board of Immigration Appeals) before 1967 have not been transferred to the National Archives of Canada. It is not known if any further records of this period survive in the current headquarters registry of the Immigration Appeal Board fonds (RG82, MIKAN 328).
