Series consists of records that are arranged numerically according to a subject file classification system and cover all aspects of the Corporation's activities from its inception in 1937. They include drafts of Board of Directors' meetings and general correspondence and subject files relating to organization, operations and operations policy, finance, employee appointments and salaries, office matters, lands and leases, equipment purchases, and accidents. Also included are legal agreements with corporations, air transport organizations, regulatory agencies of various governments, labour unions, and the TCA Pension Committee.

Interfiled are numerous technical drawings (blueprints) of airports, aircraft, and other mechanical facilities, and also maps showing route maps for service between various locations.

Additionally, there are some photographic reproductions.

Air Canada. Office of the Secretary : The Secretary of the Corporation was responsible for maintaining the minutes of the Board of Directors' meetings and all records requiring the corporate seal. As an executive officer, the Secretary also worked closely with the President and other executive officers in the areas of research and economic control, personnel and organization, facilities and supply control, public relations, accountancy, finance and insurance, legal matters, and medical matters. From 1937 to 1974, the offices of the Secretary of Trans-Canada Air Lines (Air Canada after 1964) and the Secretary of Canadian National Railways were held by same person. RG70 General Inventory
