Canada. Army Tactics and Organization Board : Activated on September 1, 1962, the ATOB's duties were to prepare "detailed studies to assist in determining field force tactics, organization and equipment requirements", to study "optimum field force organizations and equipments to meet the roles and commitments defined in the Canadian Army Programme". It was to provide "input to war games and operational research studies", to supervise "Trials of field organization and establishments". In addition, it was to test and experiment with equipment under tactical conditions, to examine and to report "on aspects of command and control" as directed by the Combat Development and Tactical Doctrine Committee, to whom it was responsible. Later studies related to the reorganization of commands and directorates as a consequence of integration. The ATOB was located at Petawawa. RG 24 General Inventory
