Series consists of materials accumulated by John de N. Kennedy in the preparation of his comprehensive two-volume history of the Department entitled History of the Department of Munitions and Supply: Canada in the Second World War (Ottawa, King's Printer, 1950). They contain correspondence relating to the writing of the history, information about the Crown Companies, Branches and Controls of the Department, and information showing the relationship of the Department with other government departments as well as with agencies of allied governments. These records are arranged in 106 subject files.
