Series consists of files documenting the following activities: reports on aircraft, most notably the Starfighter CF104, Sikorsky CH55-2-S61, the CF5, the Avro, the Bristol, the Canadair Sabre, the Cessna Crane, the Fairchild PT19 Cornell, the North American Harvard, the Westland Lysander and Wapiti ; aircraft accidents, ammunition and explosives, historical matters, visits, organization policy, air traffic control, service personnel, helicopters, boards of inquiry, visit reports, clothing, engines and engine parts, ground servicing equipment, instruments, photographic, radio and safety equipment. Many reports contain photographs and plane drawings.

Canada. Canadian Armed Forces. Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment : The Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE) was formed on May 4, 1967, bringing together the Central Experimental and Proving Establishment (CEPE) and various other Canadian Forces testing and proving establishments and units. Its components included the Air Armament Evaluation Detachment (AAED) which became 448 Test Squadron, Experimental Squadron 10 at CFB Shearwater and 129 Test and Ferry Flight at CFB Trenton. AETE was consolidated at Cold Lake in 1971. According to the AETE Handbook, its role was "to provide aerospace flight test services, flight test expertise, and general engineering services for the Canadian Forces". AETE is directly responsible to the Assistant Deputy Minister (Materiel) and is functionally controlled by the Director General Aerospace Engineering and Maintenance (DGAEM). RG 24 General Inventory
