Canada. Canadian Forces Communication Command : Communication Command (CFCC) was formed in 1965 to manage, operate and maintain strategic communications for the Canadian Forces and in times of emergency, for the federal and provincial governments. By 1990 it was providing and maintaining telecommunications and information infrastructure and processing services to National Defence Headquarters and to the Canadian Forces, as well as providing signals intelligence services and supporting search and rescue operations with high frequency radio geolocation services. The Command Headquarters at Ottawa also oversees the operations of seven communication groups and of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio System Headquarters (CFSRS). Five of the communication groups are in the five Canadian Forces Regions, another is in the National Capital region. CFCC maintained a group with Canadian Forces Europe for support of Canadian NATO forces stationed in Germany. All regular and Reserve Force Communications units within a region, including cadets, are responsible to the regional group commander.

The Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio System is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a signals intelligence collection service and a high frequency radio direction finding service. There are three SRS stations in Canada, and formerly there were units in Bermuda and Germany. RG 24 General Inventory
