This volume is titled Abstract Registers of Land Patents (A No. 1, B No. 2, C No. 3, D No. 4, R to Z, R, RA, Additions).

The registers abstracted in this volume recorded land patents dating between 1793 and 1827 for various townships in the Province of Upper Canada.

The contents of the volume are as follows: Register of Land Patents, Letter A (No. 1), recording land patents dated 27 May 1797 to 1 September 1797; Register of Land Patents, Letter B (No. 2), recording land patents dated 10 July 1795 to 10 February 1797; Register of Land Patents, Letter C (No. 3), recording land patents dated 10 February 1797 to 1 September 1797; Register of Land Patents, Letter D (No. 4), recording land patents dated 1 August 1793 to 24 October 1798; Register of Land Patents, Letters R to Z, Various Districts, recording land patents dated 10 June 1801 to 10 August 1801; and Register of Land Patents, Town Lots, Letters R and RA, recording land patents dated 1800-1827.

Following the abstract for register RA are additions to the abstract for Register A, recording land patents dated 1797.

At the end of the volume is included a General Chronological Index to Registers of Land Patents used to record land patents in Upper Canada, and, after 1841, for Canada West (part of the Province of Canada). This index divides the registers, identified by letter, into tables by province, district, or by the type of patent (eg. School Sales, Indian Sales), with the date ranges of each register indicated in columns. The earliest registers included in the tables record patents dated 1793; the latest include patents dated up to 1846.
