Guertin, H. E. (Henry Emery), 1900-1975 : Harry (Henry Emery) Guertin was born in 1900. He married Muriel Guertin. He was, for twenty years, a chemist in the Laboratory of St. Lawrence Flour Mills Ltd. in Montreal. In 1944 he moved to Toronto and took charge of the laboratory of Maple Leaf Milling Co. Ltd. He retired in Toronto and continued to live there until his death on May 2, 1975.

Harry Guertin started to collect in the early 1930's and specialized in the area of Canadian military postal history. His collections of World War I and World War II military postal history won awards when presented in philatelic exhibitions in the Toronto area, as well as when exhibited at the Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto, in 1967. He also won an award for his collection at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. He published numerous articles on the subject between 1941 and 1975 and authored "The Wartime Mails and Stamps of Canada 1939-1946", in 1970.
