Sub-series consists of the records accumulated by various Principals during the course of their activities at Royal Roads Military College. The files include outgoing correspondence; minutes of the College Council, General Council and College Senate, inter-filed with correspondence, memoranda and other records created or received by the office of the Principal; copies of grant applications in both Arts and Sciences; records pertaining to a variety of academic activities and programmes including bilingualism and second-language training, computer science, and military leadership and management; and records pertaining to the Engineering and Research Standing Committee. These files were not classified by file number or volume.

The Principal reported directly to the Commandant on all matters concerning the functioning of the Academic Wing of the College, was a member of the College Senate and College Council, and chaired both the Faculty Council and the Faculty Board.
