The registry files in volumes 592-614 cover the late 1940s and 1950s and were created by the Departments of Mines and Resources, Resources and Development, and especially Northern Affairs and National Resources. They relate to the internal organization and administration of the many offices and branches (Northern Administration, Parks, Forestry, Water Resources, etc.) of the parent department itself, as well as of such agencies which reported to the Minister as the National Museums, territorial governments, Trans-Canada Highway unit, Canadian Government Travel Bureau, Resources for Tomorrow secretariat. The files concern internal organization (with charts), personnel matters, Treasury Board and Justice rulings, Parliamentary returns, Departmental Joint Council, Civil Service Association of Ottawa.
