Canada. Canadian Army. Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada : After action in South Africa, the Great War and the Second World war, the Cameron Highlanders were disbanded on 31 December 1945. In post-war years the militia regiment, as part of the Ottawa District, had responsibility for training soldiers in the light-infantry role. It also provides ceremonial guards to visiting dignitaries and for national ceremonies and events. In the 1990s, the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa consisted of a Regimental Headquarters, a rifle company, Support Company and Training Company. Field-Marshall His Royal Highness Prince Phillip, The Duke of Edinburgh remains the unit's Colonel-in-Chief. General inventory
