Canada. Canadian Forces Base (Europe) : On 1 July 1970 CFB Europe was formed in order to provide the administrative, logistic and personnel support services of the disbanded Canadian Base Unit Europe. With its headquarters at Lahr and a detachment at Baden-Soellingen, CFB Europe supported Canadian Forces Europe Headquarters, 4 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, 1 Canadian Air Group, and other Canadian Forces elements located in Europe. In addition to its logistic role it was tasked with operating an airfield capable of sustaining tactical fighter and air transport operations. On 1 November 1979 CFB Europe was redesignated as CFB Lahr. General inventory
