Series consists of records that concern the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and Grace Hartman's role in the union. The records document her union activities at the local, provincial, national and international level.

The files document the Ontario hospital strike and the subsequent jailing of Hartman and two CUPE colleagues (1981); Public Services International and PSI women's conferences; national and Ontario conventions and executive meetings; North York Local 373; and a Bill of Wrongs created by the Ontario Division protesting against labour legislation (1966, horizontal storage, volume 17).
