Series consists of an inventory of works by Town and is divided into four sub-series. The first sub-series is arranged numerically, from 1 to 1634, and includes title, medium, dimensions and dates of works. The following two sub-series are on index cards which are organized alphabetically, by title, using the same coded numbers as in the first sub-series; works listed in these sub-series date predominantly 1968-1972. The fourth sub-series contains miscellaneous index cards for works which are un-numbered but which contain notes on sale prices, venues and dates.

This material is complemented by the Harold Town photograph collection which helps to document Town's inventory.
