Series consists largely of informational material. It almost certainly was created in the minister's office, but came to the National Archives grouped with the papers of his Chief-of-Staff, Russell J. Wunker. It has thus been left as an independent series, though in nature and content it is very similar to Series 4 described above. There is some general correspondence in these files on various matters. These files, grouped by alphabetical order, provide background, contextual information on various issues, such as political developments in the PC Party, and deal with the Party's leadership issue (Joe Clark as leader, as well as the 1983 PC Party Leadership Convention). There are also files on the Crow's Nest Pass, Indian Affairs, various government bills and the controversy surrounding the implementation of the metric system, as well as on other subjects, which reflect policy positions of the Opposition on various issues of the day.
