Series consists of correspondence, memos, briefing materials, departmental information and transmittal/action slips which comment on Mr. Epp's role as minister in the Clark government. Since this series of files was kept intact through 1980 (when the Liberals returned to power) and into 1981, 1981 has been left as the closing outside date. This series is particularly rich in material in the following areas: 1979 PC election victory; departmental information; members' inquiries dealing with Indians and northern development; Indian affairs; and various other subject blocks. The series, with memos from Mr. Epp's staff and cross-communication with other ministers, reflects the operations of the Clark cabinet. This series also reflects not only Mr. Epp's activities as minister responsible for an area as sensitive as Indian Affairs, but also the Clark cabinet's formulation of government policy after two decades of Liberal government in Canada.
