Sub-series consists of operational correspondence arranged in chronological order. The files contain photocopies of the Minister's replies as well as a limited number of photocopies of incoming letters, some with attachments. Correspondence ranges from Ministers exchanging points of views pertaining to her department's policies with other Cabinet Ministers; Replies to Cabinet Ministers and M.P.'s writing on behalf of family members wanting to immigrate to Canada; Canadian citizens complaining about various aspects of the government's Employment and Immigration policies; Provincial Immigration and Employment ministers; Business men, Barristers and Solicitors.

The immigration issues documented include: requests for refugee status; Refugee selection policy; Immigrants health status; Visa applications; Sponsoring immigrants; Situation reports on case files; Assessments of application for permanent residence; Illegal immigrants; Explanation of various policies and programs; Foreign Domestic Movement (FDM); Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada; Refugee Status Advisory Committee; Immigration Appeal Board; Deportation; Canadian Immigration Centers (CIC) and collaboration between Federal and Provincial Immigration Departments.
