Series consists of records which document Mayne's association with Valley Editions and Mosaic Press as editor and publisher. It comprises business and editorial correspondence, advertising and publicity records, and project files. The latter for Myra Mcfarlane's "The Fat Executioner" (Ottawa: Valley Editions, 1974) includes manuscripts, drafts, paste-ups, a cover mock-up, and reviews. Some of this material had been inherited from Ingluvin Publications (though it had first been published by Very Stone House in transit in 1971).

For David Slabotsky's "The Mind of Genesis" (Oakville: Mosaic Press/Valley Editions, 1975), there are working manuscripts, a draft, galleys, page proofs, correspondence, reviews, and an unpublished selection of poems titled "Dancers of the Rising Moon".

The project files for Michael Latter's "Lizard on the Scalding Stone" (Oakville: Mosaic Press/Valley Editions, 1975) contain correspondence, a revised manuscript, page proofs, an advance copy, and reviews. Those for Marya Fiamengo's "In Praise of Old Women" (Oakville: Mosaic Press/Valley Editions, 1976) hold correspondence, drafts, galleys, and reviews.

In addition, the series includes a draft of Mary Larratt Smith's "Prologue to Norman: the Canadian Bethunes" (Oakville: Mosaic Press/Valley Editions, 1976), a manuscript of a story by Al Collignon, and reviews of G.C. Ian Burgess's "Black Lunacy" (Ottawa: Valley Editions, 1974), Patricia Renee Ewing's "The Other Land" (Ottawa: Editions Bonsecours/Valley Editions, 1974), and J.B. Thornton McLeod's "La Corriveau and the Blond and other Poems" (Ottawa: Editions Bonsecours/Valley Editions, 1975).

Oversize material has been placed in volume 14.
