The series consists of personal correspondence, letters of congratulation and acknowledgement, and newspaper clippings regarding Clifford Harvison's appointments as Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner with the RCMP. It also includes some earlier material documenting his career as a Mountie and the various conferences and seminars he attended as Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner, speeches and papers on the RCMP and law enforcement, and reference files on international communism and organized crime. There are also materials regarding his visits as Commissioner to Nigeria and Ghana, to India and Pakistan, and to the Arctic on an inspection tour.
