Description:

An Eskimo (Inuit) family shifting camp (family of young Copper Inuk shaman Uloksak Meyok). Men in Arctic clothing loading a sled, pushing and pulling overloaded sled, hitching dogs to it and crossing some melt water. Coming from the lake; two Copper Eskimo (Inuit) women, Kaioranna and Nironella, wives of Attigi and Akseatak, fishing on the ice of fishing lake near Bernard Harbour. Eskimos (Inuit) setting up skin shelter and campfire. Eskimo (Inuk) shifting camp. Eskimo (Inuit) woman dressing a baby (baby is placed in her parka hood), and mending boot. Eskimo (Inuk) repairing an arrow working sinew with his teeth, testing bow and arrow. Coming from fishing lake. Putting up a shelter. Copper Eskimos (Inuit) spearing salmon in the fishing creek (Nulahugyuk Creek) at midnight near Bernard Harbour. Cutting up and cleaning salmon with ulu, then hanging fish to dry. <9mn 40s>

George Hubert Wilkins died in 1958.~4. Actuality footage. Unedited.~5. In 2001, Stuart E. Jenness published "The Motion-Picture Films of G.H. Wilkins - Canadian Arctic Expedition 1913-1916". Detailed film scene descriptions with comments by Stuart Jenness, are on pages 6 to 9, referred to as "Film 2". Blue duo-tang is available in the collection file. He also indicates that "the scenes in this film were all taken near the CAE base camp at Bernard Harbour during the summer of 1915 (not 1918), and were listed by Wilkins as his Part 2, Reel 5; more correctly they are his Reel 9."
