Sub-series consists of correspondence received by Clark as Leader of the Opposition, Feb. 1980-June 1983, including letters from ordinary Canadians on issues of the day, some letters from constituents, some letters and memoranda from other politicans, relating, in particular, to House of Commons business and committees, and copies of letters sent to other politicians, mainly Prime Minister Trudeau and NDP leader Ed Broadbent, and some international correspondence, vols. 1-167. Congratulatory messages, vols. 168-179. Itineraries, speeches, press releases, correspondence and memoranda concerning the leadership convention of 1983, personal correspondence of Clark, and related material, vols. 179-193. Vol. 193 also contains a subject code book. Chronological correspondence, nominal correspondence and memoranda relating particularly to Clark's last six months as Leader, vols. 194 and 195.
