Leather bound volume of transcribed letters written by Sir Henry Acland while on tour in North America with the Prince of Wales (214 pages). Includes a preface identifying eighteen letters or groupings of letters, written at various places on the journey. Subjects identified include: the Indians, Slavery, Military Education and Americans. Includes notes on medical institutions in the British North American colonies. Included in the bound volume is a map of North America (1 page); and an account of Acland's first encounter with Oronhyatekha whom he sketched (4 pages).
