Series consists of capital case files relating to the appeals from murder convictions for: Albert J. Guay, 1950; Ovila Boucher, 1951-1954; Venant Clavet, 1953-1954 and Wilbert Coffin, 1953-1981. Included are deliberations of the court, such as the Court of King's Bench; appeals to the court, for example, the Supreme Court of Canada; examinations of witnesses, factums, affidavits, correspondence, notes, memoranda, press clippings, photographs and maps.

The series also contains Coffin cartoons from Montreal, 1954. This material is in horizontal storage, container 1027.
