The Maritime series consists of records created or accumulated by Norman Atkins while working on various provincial election campaigns in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. In these elections Atkins held an official position as opposed to worked he did later in which he acted in an advisory capacity.

The series documents the preparation and organization of election campaigns including records that illustrate the formation of policy, platform, advertising campaigns and general logistics. The records include correspondence, notes, transcripts of interviews and conversations, draft advertising, and polling data.
