Series consists of UE briefs and submissions for 1938-1980 and 1985, minutes of District Executive Committee/Board and District Council meetings for 1937-1950, Jackson's notes on meetings, ledger for 1937-1946, decennial histories ("UE Decades"), Jackson's dues and membership cards, charters of inactive UE local unions, and other groups of documents which cut across the periods applied to organizing the UE Career Subject Files or which could not be accurately dated.

One of the minute books contains minutes of Shop Stewards Councils (container 12, file 16, to container 13, file 1, and container 13, file 4). Modelled on similar bodies in Britain, the Shop Stewards Councils flourished briefly in the early 1940s as a forum for in-plant leaders of the new CIO unions (such as the UE, United Auto Workers, and Steel Workers Organizing Committee) to meet and co-ordinate their programmes.

Series also includes 17 charters from inactive locals including UE Local 505, 508, 511, 513, 519, 524, 526, 530, 531, 532, 533, 536, 542, 543, 549, and 555.
