Volumes 1-26 of this sub-series contain incoming and outgoing correspondence, copies of memoranda with annotations, briefing material, background reports, travel agendas, newspaper clippings and excerpts. The files cover a variety of issues of concern to Mr. Mulroney, his staff and the Conservative Party of Canada including, for example, Canadian unity, child care, the constitution, government spending, race relations and Senate reform. The files dealing with Governor-in-Council appointments are of particular interest because they provide some insight into patronage and patronage appointments.

Volume 27 contains electronic records that were acquired from the office of Marjorie LeBreton. These records consist of agendas, correspondence, interviews, biographies, memos to the Prime Minister and the PC caucus, speech notes, policy conference pointers for the Prime Minister, staffing issues and mail logs (summaries of mail received).
