Series consists of correspondence, notes, memoranda, minutes of meetings and newsletters relating to the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews. The Council was formed in 1947 by Rev. Richard D. Jones, who came to Toronto from the U.S.A. for this special purpose. For many years he was the guiding force of the organization, working for brotherhood and understanding between Canada's varied groups. Samuel Godfrey was one of the early group of supporters of the C.C.C.J. Sheldon Godfrey (son of Bert) has been very active as Treasurer and Chairman, Program Committee. Bert Godfrey was an active member and Chairman, Awards Committee.
