Woycenko, Peter H, 1882-1956 : Peter H. Woycenko (1882-1956) immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1898. He graduated from Manitoba College and was one of the first Ukrainian teachers. From 1913 until his death he was manager of the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainskyi Holos (The Ukrainian Voice). He was a member of the Ukrainian Canadian Citizens Committee, which sponsored a delegation from the Ukrainian Canadian community to the Paris Peace Conference, 1919-1920, to campaign for an independent Ukraine. He was active in numerous Ukrainian community organizations in Winnipeg.
